While there are those who spend their nights wondering about their position in the corporate ladder, unravelling the future of the industry is what keeps Rajat Basra (pictured), CEO of Indonesia at Omnicom Media Group, up at night. While he feels his journey is a great one thus far filled with many achievements, there is more that needs to be done.

Basra spent about 19 years in the media industry and draws much pride from being a media planner. Having explored 36 countries, Basra has also worked in three Asia countries, namely India, China and Indonesia. In 2013, Basra helped to launch Omnicom Media Group in Indonesia and was tasked with establishing its presence in the market as its first employee.

Since then, the company has increased its headcount to over 150 and quadrupled its billings in less than five years, it said. Prior to joining Omnicom Media Group, Basra was the regional managing partner for IPG Mediabrand's Universal McCann, based out of Hong Kong.

I hail from a small town called Simla (capital of Himachal Pradesh) and always nurtured a dream to be part of the advertising world since i was a small child. Seeing both my parents creative talent at work (All India Radio) i was inspired to pursue career in the same industry. When i look back at the last 19 years i don't have a single day when i regretted my career choice. I am always passionate about content and its immense possibilities in the more complex world we are stepping into

Highlights of my career:

I have been leading change by balancing data with human emotions to provide creative content solutions. I am a creative and content specialist and my work experience spans across digital, television and media and have worked with companies; i.e Discovery Networks, NGC Fox international channels, UTV Network, WPP group media agency Maxus Global and Brand New Media content marketing agency. I have worked in South Asia and APAC markets.
I have spearheaded branded content solutions across mediums for an array of key brands: L'Oréal India and Indonesia, Unicharm Indonesia, LinkedIn India and Singapore, Shiseido Singapore, Perfetti South Asia, Pernord Ricard South Asia, Tata Tea South Asia, Singapore Press Holding group.
In rewards I have achieved 80% revenue growth YOY at Maxus global stint and am winner of 35 metals in various industry award forums.

Have conceptualized, organized & launched content marketing labs and workshops for brands; 'Content lab' for L'Oréal Indonesia and SPH Visioning 2020 for Singapore Press Holding group. Have set up content practices in India, Singapore, Indonesia and led a team of 15 practice specialists. Have more than 1000 hours of content acquired, 500 hours co-produced, 150 hours produced I was jury member for Lions Entertainment at the Cannes Lions in 2016
I am leading the content practice development for the industry by being part of Advisory board member at Content Marketing Summit Asia

Meditation and Well-being Trainer experience:

Art of Living NGO and Ride the Van (National Geographic Channel)
Conducted Leadership Training & Empowerment workshops for over 500 people at corporations like Discovery Networks, WHO, LG, Airtel, Wipro in India. Trained over 200 people through Happiness Programs (stress management and wellbeing workshops) in India and Singapore

My Volunteer experience:

15 years of philanthropy & community work experience with Art of Living NGO: raising funds for orphan children, advocated programs for inculcating hygiene and health amongst domestic help, conducted stress management workshops at old age home & creative workshops for slum children. Conducted a learning program workshop for 850 under privileged children as part of the Ride the Van project
